What is the narrative behind the photographers images?Throughout my research i have found quotes which portray the behind meanings of Richard Avedons work. One of them being - "My portraits are more about me than they are about the people I photograph" - This quote could tell his audience that what he photographs is more about himself, and that he wants to show people more about him rather than other people.

What is the artist trying to tell viewers?Throughout the artists different photographs, he portrays different messages depending on the style of his work. In his fashion shoots, he is showing the change / advance in fashion as well as capturing the image of young people. Whereas in his other photos, i feel that he is portraying a more personal view that is related to himself rather than the people his is photographing.

Why are their images so effective?Richard Avedon's photography work is effective towards his viewers in many ways. In most of his photos, he uses a white back drop which is positioned behind the model. Despite the photographs being in black and white, this makes the viewers pay more attention towards the model and draws attention to the other features of the photo.

What idea's have I got from his work?Richard Avedon's work has given me various idea's towards my next shoot. The composition and lighting in his works brings more attention to the main feature of his work, which is the model. This is what i would like to do in my next shoot within this project. I would like to bring more attention to a specific person, rather than focusing on various features which I have previously done.
